How to plan session packages

Check package pricing, delivery capacity, cash commitments, and clear customer terms before offering a bundle of sessions.

Begin with a reason a package helps

A package can simplify a client's booking or provide a clearly defined set of appointments. It should not depend on a claim that a certain number of sessions is needed to treat a condition. Make the offer optional and explain the single-session alternative when one exists.

Show the actual price

State the number of sessions, duration of each, total package price, and any installment schedule. If you describe a saving, compare it with the real current single-session price. Five $90 sessions sold for $425 have an effective price of $85 per session and a $25 saving. Do not invent an inflated reference price.

Calculate the commitment

A package sale brings in cash before all the work is delivered. Count every promised session as a capacity commitment. The pricing workbook calculates contribution assuming all sessions are delivered, with payment fees and variable costs included. It does not treat unused sessions as expected profit.

Decide the terms before selling

Write down scheduling, transferability, cancellation, refunds, missed appointments, and any proposed expiration. Check the rules that apply to the actual offer and location. Gift certificates, installment arrangements, and prepaid services can create different obligations; do not apply a generic forfeiture clause from another business.

A client who purchases several appointments still has choices about each session. Payment for a package does not remove the ability to decline touch or stop a session. Explain the business consequences of changes through the reviewed purchase policy without presenting them as a restriction on bodily consent.

Track outstanding sessions

Use a booking platform or controlled business record to track the sessions owed. Our cash planner uses aggregate counts by package type, without client health details. Review the remaining commitment before spending the cash collected. Your accountant can advise on formal revenue recognition and tax treatment.

Start with one clear offer

Test a simple package only after the single-session workflow works. Confirm that booking, balances, receipts, changes, and refunds can all be handled accurately. If the administration becomes confusing or the package leaves too little contribution per session, change the design before selling more.
